PROFILE

The superstar of the MI universe. Llord of the Wankhede. Former West Indian captain. With his massive sixes, wily bowling, gun fielding, and a never-say-die attitude that has seen him steal matches that were dead and buried, he’s all set to conquer South Africa.

Oh, and don’t forget his useful medium-pace either, bundled with smart cutters and a bunch of other variations.

Having made his international debut back in 2007 as a 19-year-old, his major claim to fame came in the 2009 Champions League T20, where he smashed an 18-ball 54 to snatch a victory from the jaws of defeat for his Trinidad and Tobago side. He’s still going strong and is one of the most in-demand players in the various T20 leagues around the world. Fresh off a stint as Mumbai Indians’ Batting Coach in the 2023 IPL and then winning the MLC, he’s all set to shed the catching glove for the batting ones, and roll back the clock!

Aye, Aye, Captain!
