Welcome home, Big Ben, to Newlands, where it all started many many summers ago. Back in 2016, during the New Year's Test against South Africa at Cape Town, there was a 25-year-old who walked out at number six, went on a record-breaking rampage as he smashed 258 runs off just 198 balls with 30 fours and 11 sixes. It was Bazball before he made Bazball a thing. 

He's now a certified legend, a double World Cup winner, and he’s coming back to where it all began. He is coming to make it his home. He is coming into the Blue and Gold. In Ben, everybody trusts. From any situation, as dire as it may be, he's the clutch you need. He's made it a habit of pulling matches out of the dead with his inspirational presence on the field. 

Sadly, owing to a hamstring injury he sustained just ahead of the SA20 season, he had to pull out of the tournament. We wish you a speedy recovery, Ben. Can't wait to see you at the Newlands soon!
