PROFILE

Quick, tall, accurate, deadly! There’s an equal chance he’d smash your toe or your helmet, and do it with utmost precision. With the ability to clock 145kph consistently on the speed gun and an equally deceptive slower delivery, Kagiso Rabada is one of the best fast bowlers going around the scene at the moment across formats. Also, when in rhythm, there really is no better sight in cricket than watching him run in and bowl!

He grabbed the international spotlight at the under-19 World Cup in 2014, emerging as the highest wicket-taker in the tournament as South Africa marched towards the trophy. By 2015, he had international caps in all three formats, an ODI hat-trick on debut, the best ODI figures on debut, and by the age of 23, had amassed 150 Test wickets, the youngest in cricket history to do so.

The current leader of the South African pace attack and at the peak of his bowling prowess, and with the pace, bounce, lateral movement that Newlands offers .. oh he’s going to love giving batters a proper workout.
