Another one of our true blue Western Cape local boys, Beuran Hendricks is just the kind of bowler you’d take a bet with in conditions that offer swing, ala Newlands. He started off as a tearaway quick back in 2013-14, and immediately set the stage on fire with a handful of wickets. A Protea cap soon followed, but his comeback into the international stage in 2019 was particularly impressive, where he recorded his best T20I bowling figures of 4/14 against Pakistan, followed by a Mumbai Indians call up in the IPL and a winners’ medal, and then capped it off with a miserly 2/14 in his four overs against India later that year.
Trust him to swing the new ball, nail his yorkers at the death, and mix his pace up superbly. Trust him to be the perfect foil to Kagiso Rabada in our attack!
