“Very happy, pulled off a lot of what we had planned for”: Head Coach, Robin Peterson

By MI Cape Town Media

Of all the talking points in the mega Auction ahead of the fourth season of SA20 where most teams had a bit of a revamp, the most prominent from an MI Cape Town perspective was the return of the three Rs who played a major role in the team’s title march last season – Rassie van der Dussen, Ryan Rickelton and Reeza Hendricks - at the top of the order.

MICT Head Coach, Robin Peterson, was equally excited. “Very happy. A lot of things we planned for, we managed to pull off today. We didn’t get one or two players from last year that we wanted, but that’s okay. We are pretty happy with the team we have going into the fourth season. Exciting times,” he said in a post-auction chat with the broadcaster.

“Rassie and Ricks (Rickelton) at the top of the order set the tone. They have been formidable for the last two years. We feel they are just getting better and better as a partnership, so we just wanted to keep that continuity. It’s so important in South Africa to play the new ball, we felt that was a very important piece in what we wanted to do today.”

With a mix of old faces coming back and some new faces waiting to explode in the Blue and Gold, we should be for another cracking season of the SA20 where we go all out to defend our crown!
