MICTvDSG report: Rickelton’s blitz makes it a walk in the park
As complete a performance as it gets. Superb economical bowling, and then the batters going bonkers to seal off another bonus point victory. Let’s quickly relive proceedings..
Step 1: Inflict an early collapse
6-1 (Brandon King, 1.2)
10-2 (de Kock, 2.6)
22-3 (Breetzke, 6.1)
22-4 (Stoinis, 6.2)
George Linde started it. Trent Boult piled on, like he typically does in the powerplay. Rashid Khan was the icing on the cake, cleaning up Matthew Breetzke and Marcus Stoinis off consecutive deliveries.
Williamson, Klaasen kept on a leash
Kane Williamson and Heinrich Klaasen rebuilt the DSG innings, but our bowlers just didn’t allow them to get away with their super-accurate bowling. In the end, the 149/6 that the Super Giants managed, was something we’d have happily taken at the start.
Another day, another RR show
Ryan Rickelton and Rassie van der Dussen wasted no time in settling in, smashing 75 runs inside eight overs. Dewald Brevis, coming up at number three, then smashed a 16-ball 26, before George Linde tonked four sixes in his eight-ball stay, and took us home with yet-another bonus point in our kitty.
